Mark Mareches grew up as his dad’s shadow on the farm, helping alongside his brother. This early exposure to farming instilled a deep passion for agriculture that he and his wife, Cami, now share with their children.
Why They Farm
Mark and Cami love the country life and farm equipment. Watching crops and animals grow daily brings them immense satisfaction. Both work full-time jobs in addition to managing their farming operation.
Crops and Livestock
The Mareches grow wheat, soybeans, and corn. They also raise Holsteins and beef feeders, ensuring their boys learn the value of hard work and where their food comes from. The kids are involved in 4-H, gaining life lessons and hands-on experience with animals from birth to maturity.

Weather is a constant challenge. The Union Bank Company has been a reliable partner, always ready to support their needs and accommodate their small business and farming operations.

John Rinker’s father passed away when he was just 5 years old. He found solace in farming with his uncle. He started with chores and driving tractors by age 6. Farming has been in his blood ever since.
Why They Farm
The Rinkers love animals, especially cattle, and cherish country living. Their passion for farming and animal care drives them every day.

Bull Creek Farm thrives with corn, soybeans, wheat, and alfalfa. They also run a successful beef cow-calf operation with 49 cows and 35 calves.
Challenges and Triumphs
Farming’s challenges include hoping for rain and managing crops. The Union Bank Company have been there to support the Rinkers along the way. “They’ve worked with everything we’ve needed,” says John.

Steve Horton grew up on a dairy farm, managing daily chores and caring for the animals. He later transitioned to hog farming before market changes pushed him to adapt again.

Steve loves planting seeds, nurturing growth, and harvesting crops to feed others. His passion for farming keeps him motivated every day.

Steve grows corn, soybeans, and wheat. For 45 years, he’s also been a beekeeper, helping the environment and producing honey. Steve is also a Zenobia Shrine Clown, bringing joy to parades and circuses.
Challenges and Triumphs
Farming has its challenges, but Steve perseveres with support from The Union Bank Company. “They’ve been there when I needed them,” he says. Success for Steve means producing a crop and covering expenses each year.
Future Plans
Steve hopes to pass the farm to a niece or nephew, continuing the family legacy. He works tirelessly to ensure a strong future for the farm.

Jason Rinker was born into farming, following his dad around as a kid. This lifelong exposure to farm life made farming his natural choice.

Farming is something Jason always wanted to do, a passion that has stayed with him since childhood.

Rinker Farms produces corn, soybeans, and wheat, and they also grow hay for their 40-head cow-calf operation.
